East lancs tPCT, part of the National Health Service. The tPCT (Teaching Primary Care Trust), established on 1st October 2006, serves the residents of the 5 boroughs of Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley and Rossendale – which is a population of 386,000 in total.
Teaching Primary Care Trusts (tPCTs) are NHS organisations which have been set up throughout the country to provide, plan and fund health services in local settings. tPCTs are unique, in that healthcare professionals such as GPs and Nurses contribute significantly to the development of services in the area.
